landscapelady introduction

Hello fellow art quilt lovers! My name is carol mcdowell and go by landscapelady for my art quilt business. I am new here so thought I would tell you a bit about myself. I am 54 years young, have two dog "children" and live in Vermont. I work full time but spend as much time as I can creating. My roots are in patchwork having gotten the quilting bug - omg, I guess it's been 30 years ago. Funny I don't feel that old, must be all the quilting has made me feel younger:-) the past ten year I have found art quilting and particularly landscapes to be my forte', although I do feel the need for a good ol' fashioned patchwork once in awhile - usually putting a different twist on it. For example right now I am working on a simple mariners compass and used a border of little chicks and of course had to stick a rooster on it as well. I will post a picture when it's done.
I sell my quilts at my etsy shop. The prices are probably way to low for the work, but you have to start somewhere and right now I'm happy just getting a little "pin" money (or should I say fabric money)
I am new at blogging, so please bear with me. I have also started a blog at http://landscapelady.blogspot.com/

My first post is not so much about quilting but about a special gift. If any of you have a grand or great grandmother that is a story teller you should read it:-)

Anyway, I'm very happy to find a place to be able to interact with other like minded quilter's and look forward to sharing projects etc.

My etsy shop is at http://www.landscapelady.net
You can find me on twitter As quiltscapes
And Facebook as landscapelady

Winter is here in the northeast and soon the chickadees will be at my bird feeder.
I made these two little quilts in their honor.

Welcome Carol, I love your little chickadees. They are my favorite birds and it is such fun to see them gather around when I come out to fill the feeder.

The quilts in your shop are lovely, Carol -- wishing you the best of luck. You have a wonderful talent, especially with these chickadees. They make me smile.

Welcome Carol! So glad to have you here. I love your chickadees especially the one facing the viewer. You can tell it is a cold day in Vermont.
